Taking care of your new tattoo

Congratulations on your new Bellab Tattoo! Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully and remains vibrant for years to come. This guide will provide you with all the information you need to care for your new artwork.

The golden rule of aftercare

If you remember only one thing, let it be this: Wash your tattoo with unscented liquid soap once to twice a day for two weeks. After washing, apply a small amount of unscented lotion. This simple routine will go a long way in ensuring a smooth healing process.

Aftercare Instructions

Second Skin bandage tips:

Leave the bandage on for 3-5 days max.

Bandage might fill with blood, ink and plasma (ink sack). Totally normal.

Once ready to remove, take off under running water.

Remove it slowly from the bottom corner, peeling away from you.

Start normal aftercare process once bandage is off!

Step by Step:

Remove any bandage type and rinse tattoo lightly with lukewarm water.

Clean tattoo with unscented soap

Pat dry with a paper towel or air dry.

Let the tattoo fully dry and apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion.

Repeat cleansing and moisturizing 2x a day for 2 weeks.

The #1 mistake to avoid

The biggest mistake people make is picking or scratching their healing tattoo. This can pull out ink, leading to patchy spots and even scarring. To avoid this, gently pat the area to relieve itching and resist the urge to pick at the tattoo. Remember, patience is key!

Things to Avoid:

Stay away from sun exposure for two weeks (sun bathing, tanning beds)

No submerging in water of any sorts. Bath tubs, pools/hot tubs or lakes.

Picking or scratching.

Any type of scented soap or moisturizer.

Tight clothing on the tattoo area.

Intense workouts or strenuous activities.

Dirty hands! Always wash your hands before cleaning.

Don't let others touch your fresh tattoo.
